National Parks: A Solution for Restoring Natural Fire

March 6 from 7 to 8 pm via Zoom…details coming soon!

Contrary to conventional wisdom, fire risk and intensity is generally lower in national parks and wilderness, in contrast to lands that are intensively managed. Expanding these protected areas is one of the most effective ways to allow ecologically vital natural fire regimes to operate while minimizing threats to human communities.

Sponsored by RESTORE: The North Woods, in partnership with Trinity College of Hartford, CT, Olmsted Network, Walden Woods, and the Wildlands Campaign of Climate Action Now Western Mass.

Will We Stop the Coup? — Russ Vernon-Jones

Historian Heather Cox Richardson, among others, has stated she believes a coup is underway.. In his latest blog post Russ implores us to take sustained, mass action, stating:

The only thing that can stop this disaster is a vastly larger, louder, determined, persistent uproar of objection from everyone who objects. We need hundreds and thousands of people repeatedly showing up in the streets and making it clear that we will never accept this power grab by the wealthy elite, the crooks, the unjust, and the cruel.
