Keystone Action Alert

On December 18, 350.org rolled out its 2015 Keystone campaign, announcing their plan to head off Republican congressional actions and respond to critical events like the upcoming Nebraska Supreme Court Decision and U.S.  State Department National Interest Report. 350.org will coordinate with the Credo/RAN Pledge of Resistance. They’ll focus on actions that won’t necessarily risk arrest, while aligning closely with the Pledge actions.

With this development, the Climate Action NOW! Keystone working group decided to plan Keystone Pioneer Valley actions as one unified campaign rather than having two campaigns with civil disobedience planning separated from legal actions. Bringing the campaigns together will make it easier for people to get all the information about Keystone they need, accurately and fast; make the biggest impact possible by having a unified local Keystone Resistance Community acting in solidarity; and make efficient use of time so no one feels their time is wasted.

With this in mind we’ve rescheduled the preparation event – from January 3 to January 10 – so we can get everyone together who wants to resist Keystone – and develop solid education and organizing as well as Nonviolent Direct Action.

Here’s the January 10 agenda. Note: If you don’t want to participate in Nonviolent Direct Action Training, please come at 11:30am, and bring your lunch!

9:00 – 11:30Basic NVDA Training: (For people who’ve never participated in Nonviolent Direct Action (NVDA) & haven’t been trained;
& for people who want “refresher” training)
11:30 – 12:00Lunch (please bring yours)
12:00 – 1:00Re-forming Our Keystone Resistance Community
