SEPTEMBER GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE WEEK: Some events for for PIONEER VALLEY
Check at the bottom for a detailed calendar
As the young Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg tells us, “our house is on fire.” We need to act like it. September 20 will begin a week of strikes, teach-ins and rallies across the globe to demand we take the climate crisis seriously. Details are evolving, please check back often.
When: Friday, September 20, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where: City Hall and Statehouse
In Boston, high school students are organizing a rally from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM with speakers, chants, music, chalking, a live stream of Greta, and a march from City Hall to the Statehouse. This will be the largest event in Massachusetts, and a generational moment. Do all you can to make it there, particularly if you are young or can help a young person go. Youth organizers are also seeking funding and help reaching out to their peers, both to publicize strikes across the region and to help those who want to get to Boston.
